Welcome from the Gym Manager

"Welcome to the Heaton Fitness Suite. Here we cater for all levels of health and fitness and can offer a wide range of fitness services to enable members to get the most of their training sessions. New members are given a full induction and provided with a programme to reach goals and achieve results. We also offer advice on diet and nutrition and we have a trainer who can give 1-2-1 training if you wish to get that extra boost! I am at the club Tues – Sat so please don’t hesitate in asking for assistance if you need it"

Circuit Training

Circuit training is regarded by many professionals as one of the best methods of exercise. A range of exercises are carried out together, it is also less time consuming therefore less intrusive to busy schedules!

Classes are run by Alex on Saturday morning 10.30am - 11.30am and 1 day during the week. Each session is 60 minutes long and can be booked in advanced or as pay as you go.

Alex Prytulak - Gym Manager & Assistant Club Manager

Bradford Tennis Club Gym Manager, Alex PrytulakAlex has a degree in Health related fitness and Exercise from Leeds Metropolitan University. He believes his degree was the foundation of his training and knowledge which allows his clients to learn from him in areas such as nutrition, lifestyle changes and exercise.

He has previous experience in gymnasiums and local sports centres. He has a special interest in fitness and has gained qualifications is SAQ (Speed, Agility, Quickness), strength conditioning and sports coaching.

In the gym Alex ensures all new members are fully inducted before working out in the gym. Alex is available for one to one personal training to improve strength, develop personal goals and increase wellbeing.

Justin Murr - Trainer, Conditioner and Injury Therapist

Since graduating in Sport & Exercise Science from Leeds University in 2008, Justin has become a qualified: Personal Trainer, Sports Massage Therapist, Nutritional Therapist and Kettlebell Instructor. He is currently working as a Strength & Conditioning Coach with Leeds Rhinos Academy and a Massage Therapist with the 1st Team. He also works with Leeds United FC, a GB Water-polo player, Pro golfers, Triathletes and more recently a UK ranked Squash Player.

Training sessions are always designed to hit the client's individual targets, whether it is to improve performance, boost fitness, shed a few pounds or return from an injury! Justin uses the recent 'Crossfit' style of training with most of his clients. Each session is different, intense and exciting. The right place to go for a real workout!

Justin is able to treat a wide range of injuries and conditions throughout the whole body. Whether it is a sport specific injury, running conditions, general joint or muscle pain or something common like lower back pain, methods are used to provide relief from discomfort and aid quick recovery from injury.

Justin has played sports at elite level himself and has huge passion for sport in general. This makes it easier for him to understand what the demands are from particular sports and also the common injuries associated with them.

Dance & Exercise Studio

Bradford Dance Studio and Exercise StudioAt Heaton Tennis & Squash Club we have a dance and exercise studio offering yoga classes, Bollywood, Aikido, Bums and Tums, karate lessons and pilates courses. Circuit training and cardiac rehabilitation are also available.

Karate Classes

Heaton have two Karate schools using the studio throughout the week, they run their own recruitment and should be contacted direct on the numbers below if you require any more information.

Two members of JKS Karate Robin Reid & Richard Barrett have been selected to represent GB in national team & world championships in Okinawa in Japan - April 2007.

Pilates Classes

Sharon Cummings - Complementary Therapist

Sharon holds a BSc in Oriental Medicine. Her practice includes acupuncture, Tui- Na (Chinese Physiotherapy) and herbs. Sharon is also highly qualified in Cranial Sacral therapy via the Upledger Institute and is also able to offer Advanced Reflexology, Chi Nei Tong (Chinese Stomach Massage) and therapeutic massage.
